Results
Realised energy efficiency investment projects for 3,2 MEuro and additionally developed investment projects for 6,9 MEuro that will be implemented within the coming three years. Thus the total investment triggered by Rhodoshop amounts to 10,1 MEuro, in 46 municipal buildings (community centres, schools, nurseries, kindergartens, cultural buildings like the Planetarium in Smolyan, etc.) and in 40 street lighting systems.
The primary energy savings by 31 August 2022 resulting from the above investment amount to 8,7 GWh/year while the longer term impact within three years after project end, is 11,7 GWh/year;
Contribution to local economic development and job creation in the Rhodope region;
The GHG emission reduction resulting from Rhodoshop OSS operation during project duration amounts to 4 414 tCO2e/year. The longer term impact within three years after project end, is 5 440 tCO2e/year, which contributes to meeting the local and European-wide targets.
In addition, qualitative results were achieved as follows:
- Qualified staff with 5-year-old experience in sustainable project development and implementation was created and remains locally at place to continue the efforts in municipalities to invest in energy efficiency improvements Furthermore, Rhodoshop OSS plan to extend the services to the residential sector by provision of advice to citizens on energy refurbishment of their homes;
- The concept of OSS for building renovation was promoted in Bulgaria and within EU, and the establishment of an OSS for private residential building renovation in the Municipality of Asenovgrad, Bulgaria, was inspired.
